A client needed to submit a printed-out proof of a 95-page booklet to the head of her department by the end of the day (6pm). It is now 5:35pm.
Client: There’s a problem with the pdf you sent. It’s not printing all the way. I have to submit this book in 45 minutes.
Me: What do you mean, “not printing all the way”?
Client: It prints to page 81 and then it stops.
Me: What happens if you print page 81 by itself?
Client: It prints just fine.
Me: Can you print just page 82 through 95?
Client: Yeah, those work. It’s just not working when I try and print it – it stops at page 81.
Me: So, you have pages 1 to 80 printed, 81 printed, and 82-95 printed?
Client: Yes.
Me: And you only need to make one of these.
Client: Yes. Look, I don’t have time for all your questions. I need it printed now!
